What is Team Tennis?

Team tennis is a recreational tennis program for juniors who are beginners to highly competitive players who are trying to gain more match experience. Juniors are matched with other players of same ability to form a team in one of three levels- Ralleyball (novice), Intermediate and Advanced. Matches will be played throughout the San Fernando Valley. Team tennis has experienced wonderful growth so the valley has been split into two sections. We are in the west valley league and will play team located at Porter Valley Country Club, Calabasas Tennis and Swim, Braemar Country Club. East valley is comprised of La Canada, Glorietta Park, Flint Canyon and Toluca Lake. League winners will advance to the Sectional Championships to determine Southern California Champions.

Teams are comprised of four singles and two doubles matches. You need a minimum of four kids per match and can have up to 6. Preferably there should be three boys and three girls. Due to the fact we and most clubs have more boys, they are making an allowance to have more boys than girls at the matches if needed. The match format for the 12 and 14 level is an No-ad 8 game pro set (12 point tie breaker at 7-7). The 18 and under level is No ad best two out of three sets (12 point tie breaker played at 5-5) A match tie-breaker is played in lieu of a third set. The matches are usually played Sunday afternoon between 12:00-2:00. They take an average of two hours.
